Selwyn

Selwyn is a former Producer-Presenter and Music Director of Symphony 92.4FM, and was most recently the Assistant Programming Manager of the station.

He started learning the piano and violin at a tender age of 2, and brought his love and talent for music everywhere he went. He was a choir pianist in his primary school days, the concertmaster of the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Chamber Orchestra in his secondary school days, and also the leader of the SAF Music & Drama Company String Ensemble in his army days.

 

Selwyn has also performed for President and Mrs SR Nathan at the Dinner for Ambassadors and High Commissioners in 2000, as well as for Minister Teo Chee Hean and the late President Ong Teng Cheong at the President’s Charity Concert in 1997. He has performed extensively with several established groups such as the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, NUS Symphony Orchestra and NUS Centennial Orchestra.

 

He was also featured as a Music Prodigy in the Bright Sparks Magazine in the Association of Gifted Children in 1995, as well as in The Straits Times for the President’s Charity Concert in 1997. Selwyn has also won top prizes in the National Piano & Violin Competition in 1995 and 1997.

 

Friendly and bubbly, Selwyn has also been asked to emcee at weddings, events and open houses, and was also chosen to be a voiceover talent during his internship days at the Ministry of Education, Education Technology Division.
